The Royse Foundation has established an annual scholarship for minority students and students of color graduating from Mandan Senior High School in Mandan, North Dakota.
A Note From Roger Royse:
North Dakota was a pretty homogeneous place when I grew up there, but we did have a few minority students and it always seemed to me that they had a tougher time of it than the rest of us. Due to the latest oil boom, the state has become more diverse and North Dakota has become a wealthy state, but there is still a large amount of rural poverty, and opportunities are scarce. I hope this will help.
Dorian "Pete" Cordes, a member of the class of 1956, has contributed over $300,000 in gifts as part of his estate.
These contributions established the Arnold E. Larson Scholarship. A $10,000 scholarship will be given to an MHS senior and a $10,000 scholarship to a graduate of MHS studying instrumental music at the secondary level.
